Is the online program accredited?
The Joseph Business School is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET). The Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.
When is the application due?
Application due dates vary from year to year relative to the exact start date of each Spring and Fall session. Depending upon which session you are applying for, you will receive notification regarding the exact due date. Generally, the final due date for all applications are two weeks before the start date of each Spring and Fall session.
Where are the classes held?
All online program courses are accessed through the online learning platform called Desire2Learn (D2L).
How long is the program?
The JBS Entrepreneurship Online Program is 9 months long.
When do classes begin?
The Spring session begins in April and the Fall session begins in October every year.
How many days during the week do classes meet?
The online program is accessible to the students 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
When and how often do I need to be online for class?
There are no designated times that a student must access the learning platform each day. The advantage of an online program is that you can customize your study time to your personal schedule and work at your own pace within the given time to complete your coursework. This means that as long as you submit your coursework by the given due date, the frequency at which you access your course materials are at the discretion of the student.
What are the instructors like?
Faculty members are entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals who have attended some of the world’s best universities and are business leaders of some of America’s Fortune 500 companies. Faculty and advisors have at least seven (7) years of entrepreneurial and/or management level corporate experience in the subject matter taught.
Will I use traditional textbooks or eTextbooks? If yes, how and where do I order the books?
All textbooks are included in the cost of the program and are available to you on the learning management system, Desire2Learn (D2L) in digital form.
What is the cost of the program?
The total cost is $3535.00 (this includes the $25.00 application fee and the $35.00 graduation fee).
Is there a payment plan available or is the full amount due immediately?
Yes, please contact the Admissions Department for the current payment plan list.
Is financial aid available or are you able to accept grants and scholarships?
Not at this time from external sources. Eligible enrolled students may apply for a scholarship that is available from privately donated funds when they are available through the JBS Scholarship Fund as they are completing the program. The application will be due during the second half of Term 2 and awarded in Term 3.
To be eligible for the scholarship the student must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress and have an attendance record of at least 85%. Students receiving employee discount are not eligible to apply.
The award of the scholarship will be based on student’s financial need, available funds, student’s academic performance, class attendance and overall application. The maximum award will be $1,000.00 per student unless otherwise specifically designated by donor. Completed applications containing all requirements for a scholarship are judged by the Scholarship Committee.
Note, scholarship awards cannot be combined with employee discount but can be combined with FMA discount.
Do you offer any discounts?
Currently, there are no discounts for the online program.
Can my job pay for my courses?
We do accept tuition reimbursement arrangements from employers. Please check with your Human Resources department for details on specific procedures and guidelines that you should follow.
If I have never taken an online program, where do I get assistance?
We advise all students to take the Readiness Assessment Survey online prior to applying to the online program. This will help you determine if the online program is a good fit for you. Upon acceptance into the program, students attend an online orientation where they receive a guide explaining how to navigate the learning platform. If further assistance is needed throughout the duration of the program, the Administrative team is always available to answer any questions you may have.
Do you offer online tutoring if I don’t understand my assignments?
Students are assigned an online advisor who is available to help with assignments and projects throughout the duration of the program. In addition, the SBDC offers counseling services to all students who need further assistance. Additionally, online tools are available by request from the Administrative Office.
Is there an admissions process?
Admissions RequirementsBusiness & Entrepreneurship Campus and Online Programs Applicants must meet the following requirements - be at least 18 years old, at minimum, have a High School Diploma or GED certificate (transcript or photocopy required), submit two written recommendations from a community and/or business leader, none of whom may be relatives, complete three essays, and submit the Application fee of $25. A computer and personal email address is required to attend the Business & Entrepreneurship Online Program. We may also require an interview as a requirement for admission. Entrance exams are not a requirement of admission. You must submit an application in order to be admitted or accepted into the program.Admissions Procedures The Business & Entrepreneurship Online Program Applications can be obtained here. Completed applications can be submitted at any time for the Campus and Online Programs.. For the Online Program, completed applications must be submitted online. A complete admissions package (completed application along with all requirements, i.e. fee, essays, transcript, etc.) is forwarded to the Admissions Team for review. The review timeframe is up 6 weeks. For the Online Program, acceptance status as well as all correspondence is communicated through email. Applicants to the online program must submit their application and the application fee here.
Do you accept foreign students for admission to the online program?
Yes, as long as an applicant has access to the Internet and a personal email address, they may apply to the online program. ***However, please note that JBS does not offer or assist with student visas, lodging or employment (refer to the Foreign Applicant guidelines).

How do I access my courses each week?
You will be given a login to Desire2Learn (D2L) once you are accepted into the program. From there you can access all your courses, announcements, and scheduled meetings with your instructors.
How do you connect/communicate with the instructors?
You can communicate with your instructors via phone or email. You will also have scheduled, live class time with your instructors through a live online meeting space.
How do I turn in my assignments?
Upon acceptance into the program, students are given a login to Populi, an online website that allows you to turn in your assignments in all media forms.
How do I take and submit exams?
All assessments are completed on the learning platform, Desire2Learn (D2L).
How does the online program schedule classroom time?
You will have scheduled sessions with your instructors/advisors called Collaborates. Collaborates are live meetings that take place via a meeting website called YouSeeU, which is offered on the DesireToLearn (D2L) site. This is the time for instructors to go over all upcoming assignments as well as answer any questions that students may have. You will be notified ahead of all scheduled meetings.
How do I interact with my classmates?
There are several ways to interact with your peers. Traditionally, you can contact your peers via email. However, as a part of your curriculum, you will communicate with your peers on a regular basis through Dialogues. Dialogues are assigned questions that are derived from the curriculum and get the student engaged with the curriculum and get the student interacting with one another.
Do I receive a diploma upon completion of the program?
A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the program.
If I complete the program early, can I receive my certificate early?
Due to course sequence and accessibility, early completion is not possible before the 9 months completion time.
Do I attend a graduation ceremony, if so where will it be held?
Participation in the graduation ceremony is optional to the student. If you choose to participate, all ceremonies are held at Living Word Christian Center.
Is there any housing, dorm rooms or relocation assistance available?
